Of course you haven’t! Hahaha.

Seriously, this has become a real problem in our society, and as an internet marketer,
it presents a unique set of circumstances, because our businesses are a 24/7 operation.

If you don’t know how to “Shut down”, you could easily spend 15 hours a day looking
at your computer screen (Not that I have EVER done that)…..or, on the flip side,
you could find yourself spending less and less time on your business, and the longer
you stay away, the harder it is to put yourself back in that frame of mind to be productive.

I recently have found myself in that position, and I wanted to share with you some
of the techniques I used to put myself “back in the game”….These may seem overly simple,
but, sometimes, it’s all you need to renew your spirit and remind yourself why you love what
you do.

1.) Speed Watching?
In this world of ever-evolving technology, we seem to be glued to our computer. Obviously.
But have you ever stopped to think about how much time we spend reading articles and books,
and watching videos? You Tube, Blogs, WEBINARS (How many of these did you sign up for, then
not show up, thinking “I’ll catch the recording later” only to find that you are so far behind you can’t
even make time to do that?) I recently was introduced to a product that I think is brilliant. I am not
an affiliate, just a fan. it will let you watch videos at faster speed, so you can get through them in a
fraction of the time….don’t worry, there’s no “Mickey Mouse” voice or anything like that, and you can
slow down the speed when you find an important point you want to write down. Enounce.com
I am hooked. I will never watch a video at regular speed again.

2.) Outsourcing.
We’ve all heard of it, but for some reason, we think it’s only for the “established”
entrepreneur, or those with deep pockets. Let me share a secret with you….much of my outsourcing is
done by an 18 year old kid with a love for $20 bills. That’s right, I am exploiting the needs of my son by
offering him (*gasp*) money to do some chores around the house. dishes, laundry, vacuuming, mowing the
lawn…basically whatever is needed. Now I can concentrate on money PRODUCING activities, like this blog post,
and when I am done, I will leave my home office and step into a semi clean house. (he’s not a professional,
let’s just be clear about that. Far from it!). But now he has some extra $$$ for gas in the car, and I
am less likely to start crying at the sight of my sink full of dishes. Win Win.

Of course for those tasks that require a bit more expertise, I can say
replacemyself.com comes highly recommended as does elance.com

I realize these cost money, but there is a trade off here, and I don’t know about you, but
my sanity is worth ALOT. Even if the budget is tight, there are things, such as article writing,
you can outsource very inexpensively that will allow you so much more productivity you’ll wonder how you
ever lived with out.

3.) You Deserve A Break Today.
Really. I don’t just mean get up from your computer, I mean you must mentally
detach yourself from your work. I had a really hard time with this in the beginning, and even now, sometimes I
go to bed with my mind thinking about what I can do “tomorrow”. Live in the moment, because we only have
so many moments to live. When you work, work hard…don’t allow your focus to be distracted by personal
phone calls or neighbors popping by (which for me is easy because I think I alienated everyone in my actual life
who isn’t a close friend or family!). But when you are not working, you must consciously decide to not think
about work. It isn’t hard once you develop this imperative habit.

4.) Breathe, Dammit!
As cliche as it may sound, yoga and deep breathing excercises can be extremely beneficial on so many
levels. For one, it helps to clear the clutter from your mind. For another, it will go a long way to lowering your
blood pressure so that you can deal with the stress this business puts on you. Cause face it, we can’t avoid
stressful situations, but we can control how we react to them. Being in a healthy state of mind will allow you
to think more rationally and make better, more clear, decisions during the day. Speaking of health, your diet
is also a factor here, folks. If you are eating poorly, chances are your body is pretty angry with you….and it
will tell you all day long. Those stomach pains, indigestion and heartburn will do more to distract you than
you may think. Eat light, eat often….and drink plenty of water. These few things will allow your body to function more regularly and peacefully so you can concentrate on more important matters, like that Ning page you’ve been
wanting to customize because you were told it would boost your credibility….(Ok, that’s a personal hang up, I admit)

5.) Get Your Mind Out Of The Gutter!
This one is so obvious, but, again, it seems to take time away from
other things, that we just don’t seem to spend enough time on Mindset and personal development. If you
are showing up everyday and your thoughts are jumbled and you are cursing yourself for what you didn’t
get done yesterday, you have already put yourself in a hole before your day even begins. If you just CANNOT
find time to read first thing, you should at least do one of these alternatives. Watch a 3-10 minute video.
Who rocks in your world? Tony Robbins? Jonathan Budd? (well, you may need more than 10 minutes for him,
because I’ve never seen him with just a “quick tip for the day” hahaha). Is it someone like Jim Rohn who inspires
you to do better and feel better? whoever that may be, YouTube has a video for it, I’m sure. You can also download
some great audio and play it while you are showering….whatever works for your schedule, just make sure you
start your day with a power boost of inspirational words and encouragement. I personally subscribe to Brian Tracy’s
newsletters, including his quote of the day…it’s quick to read and I always get started feeling great.
You can find more at BrianTracy.com

These are just some of the ways that you can get yourself out of the funk you may find yourself in from time to time,
as we all do for different reasons. If you want more information on how you can get rid of your overwhelmed lifestyle
and get some great shortcut tips as well, Mike Dillard has his finger on the hot button of What’s Working Now. I hope you found them helpful, and I would love to hear your comments and feedback.

Fear, of course, of the unkown.

One of the biggest “unknowns” in this industry is how much money is actually spent growing your business. There are advertising costs, and that is, for the most part, an expected expense. However, most people serverely underestimate the cost of continuing education.

No matter what kind of business you have, online or off, if you aren’t keeping up with the trends, and continually learning more and growing consistently, your business will stagnate and you will not flourish.

One of the things I choose to invest money into is attending live events. Ironically, I was at the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas recently, and my teammate and mentor Mark Hoverson spoke specifcally on this topic, and I thought It was important to share. After all, he makes big bucks in this industry, and wouldn’t he be an expert on this subject?

Enjoy the clip, and leave me your feedback below. Looking forward to hearing from you!

What I noticed immediately was that my sponsor and mentor, Mark Hoverson, immediately started arranging for group events with his (at the time) small team of entrepreneurs. Kevin and I were unable to travel at that time due to school shedules, and, yes, finances. Words Mark spoke kept ringing in my head…”Every successful member of my team attended a live event before they were successful”. I knew we had to make it happen. So we got creative, became resourseful, and started attending events around the country. What Mark said is absolutely true, and I am living proof of what attending live events can do for your career. Check out this cool video of our evening at the Trump Penthouse Suite in Las Vegas, and what Mark had to say to me at the very end.

We called the resort directly to gather some more
information.

We asked why we were unable to find any ‘3 bedrooms’
online for the dates we were looking for. (April 16 – 23)

They told us it was because these dates are extremely
desirable and that they had sold out very quickly. They
also indicated that these dates were peak season for them.

We then asked, what the price would have been for a 3
bedroom unit, if they had the availability…

“$425.00 per night for the first 2 nights and then $325.00 per
night for the remaining 5 nights”… and this does not include
taxes or fees. Before taxes & fees you’re already over $2,400.00.

Right now through membership, you can book an entire week at this
resort in the best location on the property. You’ll enjoy a 3 bedroom
beautiful suite in peak season for only $799.. and this includes all
taxes and fees. That’s a minimum savings of over $1,800.00, not to

When I first became a network marketer, I was very much focused on “building my downline”. Years ago, before this wonderful era of complete marketing disclosure, building a downine was an impossible feat. At least for me.

But I perservered until I met the person who would ultimately completely change the way I looked at online marketing. And the earliest lessons I learned was not to put all my eggs in one basket. That the beauty of online marketing is that you don’t have to sell just one product. I look at it like I own a store that speciallizes in marketing technology and information. And I am here to offer whatever it is that you need for your business, or if you don’t yet have a business to offer, I can help you there too.

I became an affiliate early on for almost every product I bought, and I promote my affiliate links in different places around the internet. Somtimes I forget that I am an affiliate for some things, and when I remember, I will draft up a quick email to my list and include it at the end or something.

Don’t be afraid to offer an affiliate product to a friend or aquaintance if they specifically ask you for information. If you have used a product or system and had good results, you should look at it as a favor to offer up what you know about that product.

You can also offer things occasionally without having been asked, presented as an idea that may not have been thought of yet. Again, if you know it’s valuable, it is the right thing to share the information.

Many times people are caught in a trap thinking it is rude to “Sell” to friends or your list…that you should only offer free value. It may seem uncomfortable for some to actually promote a product out right because they have been taught that “Selling is bad”. “Sharing valuable information”, however, is completely acceptable, and, in fact, expected from a true leader. So start thinking about all those little affiliate checks you could be making each week. even if it’s just enough to cover some advertising costs, it will put you ahead in the long run. Plus, it’s always fun to open up your email and see that you have money waiting!

As I mentioned Traffic Geyser in the video, I am including a link here for you to check out the site to see for yourself what an incredible service they offer. Get More Leads, Traffic and Buzz with Traffic Geyser!

Steve Shuitt of TubeNinja.com recently put together a post on one of the most annoying trends happening right now on facebook. Worse than that, though, is that this practice is something that could literally ruin someone’s reputation online.

So I am expanding on this idea by putting together just a few things I can think of off the top of my head that you may be doing, or know someone who is. Take note to avoid these “Cardinal Sins” and be sure to share these tips with others in order to help them avoid possibly doing irreversable damage to themselves or their business.

4 Things That Can Ruin Your Reputation Online

1.) Bombarding Your Email List With Too Much Infomation
What? Aren’t you supposed to communicate with your list regularly? Isn’t it your
responsibility to alert your list to the best and newest information possible? Well,
the short, easy answer is “Yes”. Your responsibility as a leader is to keep your list
informed as soon as you know something. However, if you abuse this practice, and
start emailing your list 4 times a week, constantly bombarding them with links to the
newest, latest, greatest product they “Just have to have”, you run the very serious
risk of tuning them out to you completely. Make sure you communicate often, but be
sure you are offering true value, not just junk. That means much of your communication
should really never ask them to buy anything. Your emails should be videos, blog posts,
and articles that will help them improve themselves in some way, and most of your information
should have no strings attached.

That doesn’ t mean you can’t offer products and opportunities, just keep your ratios in check, and
the products offered should be high quality, proven material. Not just crappy ebooks or junky affiliate
programs.

    2.) Bogus Claims And Promotions
It’s very easy to get excited about a new opportunity, and of course, you want to
share it with the world, and help everyone lead better, healthier, wealthier lifesyles.
However, it is not O.K. to make false claims about the income you are making or about
the benefits your product offers. The FTC has been very clear as of late that they will
not tolerate anyone lying about how much money they are making, and a free compliance report
explains what you can and cannot say about your income.

Exagerating your income may put you in legal hot water, but making false claims about how
healthy those vitamins are, or how much weight you will lose with this excercise program will
not only lose the trust of your prospects and peers, but will more than likely get you booted
from your MLM opportunity. If you have had success, great! Share it. But be honest about how
long it took you to see results. If you use a testimonial from another member of your company,
be sure it is legitimate and credible. People will appreciate your honesty if you tell them that you
lost 15 lbs, but it took you 3 months to do it. Bottom line…Don’t lie.

3.) Gossip Will Bring You Down Faster Than Birds In The Engine Of A Jetliner
Office gossip is commonplace. Politics play a role in everyday life from kiddie carpools
to corporations to, well, Washington. It is pretty much in-escapable that if you are
well known in any capacity, there will be some sort of discussion about you somewhere.
The question is….will it be favorable? Or not? Just because you are working from home, at
your laptop, does not mean you’re insulated from the rest of the world. The internet community
is just that….a community. It may span the globe, but it is a small world inside this electronic box,
so just mind what you say, and avoid participating in any negative smearing of anyone’s reputation,
whether they earned it or not. (There are, no doubt, many marketers who have earned their tarnished
reputations, but that is no business of yours. Pride yourself on staying obliviously neutral in as many
instances as possible).

  4.) Thou Shall Not Steal
“Swiping” is a commonly known practice on the internet. You will hear lots of references to
’swiping a file’ or ’swiping content’ from someone elses site. What you may not know is that it
is actually a commonly accepted practice. “What? How is that possible? Who would
literally “allow” someone to steal content from their site?” Well, now I didn’t say steal, I said swipe.
Here is the difference. a marketer friend may have what’s called a “swipe file” that they will share
with their prospects or teammates, allowing them to use pre-authorized content however they
choose. This has been approved, so there is no implications of dishonestly here. That’s one way
swiping is acceptable. Another way which is very common practice among marketers is to actually
find content on another site, whether it is video, article, or blog post, and take that idea to make
your own content. Notice I said idea.

What you don’t ever want to do is copy and paste, word for word, anyone else’s written material
without proper consent from the writer. Now, copywright infringements most likely won’t apply from
individual marketers, but in all likelyhood, you will be called out as a thief, and your trust factor will
be tarnished for a long time to come. Same with video. Bottom line here: You can borrow content
all you want, as long as you legitimately work to make it a unique offering from you. We can all share,
right?

These are just a few examples off the top of my head that will hurt you and your business if you
aren’t careful how you handle them. Please feel free to share other ideas that I did not mention here.
I’m sure there are many, and the more we can come up with, the more people we can help in the long run.

You May “Just Be A Sponsor” if:

* You know the exact number of people in your organization, but cannot name many people. Worse yet, you honestly can’t call any one of them a friend.

* You come back from vacation and your inbox is flooded with emails, and voicemail is full of messages from your downline asking for help, and they have no idea that you were away.

* When a downline member does get in touch with you, and asks for help, you refer them to someone else to talk to, or give them a link to the company’s corporate training just to appease them.

However, you are most definitely a “Valued Mentor” if:

* You not only know the names of many of your teammates, but know stories about their families as well.

* You come back from vacation with your inbox filled with good wishes and inquiries to how your trip was. Or also likely is that the trip you just took included members of your team who went also.

* You are not only available to give time to your teammates to brainstorm and troubleshoot, but you are also pro-active in your coaching and you’re continually sending emails offering tips and helpful information about how to be better at what they do.

There are countless examples I could give, but the bottom line is anyone with an advertising budget and some telephone skills can sponsor many people into their business, and be financially successful, but a mentor who works to lift up their team and shine the spotlight on them will enjoy a far more rewarding and enriching experience as a leader in this industry.

We Americans have just come off one of the worst economic years in decades. Much has been said about how bad things are economically around the globe, and stories of hardship have been plenty.

In my opinion, all that ended on Tuesday, when the capital city of Port-au-Prince was literally reduced to rubble. With a population of approximately 1.7 million, the estimates of death are possibly hundereds of thousands. This means that for 1.5 million people, there will be no water, no food, no government infustructure. In other words, CHAOS. There is no escaping the fact that this country will suffer unimaginable hardship for a very long time.

If this moves you at all, and I know many of you are as moved as I am by the images I have seen on television, and the thought of what life is and will be like there, then please take a moment to watch the video below for information on how to quickly and easily make an immediate difference in their world, with just a $10 donation.
